Morocco, the hosts, are near-flawless in the tournament so far, drawing just one game of their four played.

They topped Group A, opening their campaign with a 2-0 over Comoros before a 1-1 draw with Mali on Boxing Day.

A 3-0 over Zambia followed, before they snuck past Tanzania 1-0 in the first knockout round.

Cameroon, meanwhile, have the same record, three wins and a draw.

That sole blip in their otherwise perfect form came against the Ivory Coast on matchday two, sandwiched by victories over Gabon and Mozambique.

They showed their quality to defeat South Africa in the last 16, with Christian Kofane coming to the fore to nod home the winner and complete the comeback.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Cameroon vs Morocco is scheduled for a 7pm GMT kick-off on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Cameroon vs Morocco team news

David Pagou’s Cameroon have the one injury worry - Darlin Yongwa - who was withdrawn in the first half against South Africa.

Otherwise, he has a full complement to pick from, with the likes of Carlos Baleba and Bryan Mbeumo amongst his many stars.

As for Morocco, one of the stars from the 2022 World Cup run Azzedine Ounahi is out for the tournament with a muscle injury, while Achraf Hakimi has returned to full fitness after almost two months out.

The right-back laid on an assist for the winning goal against Tanzania.

The other two names to watch are former Premier League stars, Sofyan Amrabat and Romain Saiss, who missed and trained separately respectively in the last week.

Cameroon vs Morocco prediction

This is a tough one to call, and a clash that could go the full 12 rounds.

Hakimi being back for Morocco is huge, and it seems as though Cameroon have finally clicked into gear after some unconvincing performances in their opening games.

The hosts themselves have not been at their free-flowing best either, but momentum has started to build as we approach the latter stages of the tournament.

Home advantage could also be key here, with that lying in Morocco’s favour.

Morocco to win, 2-1 AET.
