Camilo Duran caught up in visa issue ahead of potential Colombia debut | OneFootball

Camilo Duran could be forced to wait for his Colombia debut after the Celtic forward was caught up in an administrative delay ahead of their international fixtures in the United States.

The Hoops attacker earned his first senior call-up from Nestor Lorenzo following an impressive start to life at Parkhead and had been in contention to make his international bow against Mexico in Baltimore.

However, while the rest of the Colombia squad assembled at the beginning of the week, Duran has been unable to join his international teammates due to paperwork surrounding his visa and passport.

Lorenzo remains hopeful the issue can be resolved in time for the first fixture, although Duran has further opportunities to make his debut with Colombia also due to face Paraguay and Peru.

The Colombia boss said via Glasgow Times: “Camilo Duran has not yet been able to join up with the squad, unfortunately.

“The reason is related to the paperwork for obtaining his visa and passport necessary for his travel.

“I am hopeful the issue will be resolved in time for our first game and, if not then, for the other games in the international schedule.

“Camilo is a very useful player to have in the squad because he can be used on both wings, but he is also a finisher and can be used as a No.9 too.

“So he will be a versatile option for us to have.”
