Nigeria made no mistake against Mozambique (4-0) on Monday night, booking their ticket to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025).

Beyond Victor Osimhen, who bagged a brace, Ademola Lookman stood out as the driving force behind the victory with a goal and two assists.

In four matches, the Atalanta Bergamo forward has racked up 3 goals and 4 assists. He’s already matched his personal best for goals in the tournament (3 in 2023).

Voted man of the match, the 29-year-old has outperformed his teammate Moses Simon, who managed 3 assists in 2023.

With 4 assists, he’s pulled off a feat not seen since 2008, matching none other than Didier Drogba. The former Elephants striker was the last to deliver 4 assists in a single edition, back when the tournament was held in Ghana.
