Left out of the Ivorian squad for CAN 2025, Nicolas Pépé remained with his club Villarreal during the tournament. Closely following the Elephants' journey from afar—having lifted the trophy with them in 2023—the winger watched Saturday night's defeat to Egypt (3-2) with a heavy heart.

Filmed by his partner, former actress Teanna Trump, Nicolas Pépé broke down in tears during Côte d'Ivoire's elimination. The former Lille and Nice forward was visibly distraught, powerless as he witnessed his teammates' painful exit.
