The Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca will set the stage tonight for the clash between Sudan and Burkina Faso, marking the final matchday in Group E of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted in Morocco.

Already through to the round of 16 alongside Algeria, both teams are still battling for a decisive result to secure second place in the group. Each side sits on three points, with Burkina Faso holding a slight edge on goal difference.

Sudan enters this encounter full of confidence, having clinched a 1-0 win over Equatorial Guinea on matchday two, after opening their campaign with a defeat against Algeria (3-0) .

On the other side, Burkina Faso are coming off a narrow loss to Algeria (0-1), courtesy of a Riyad Mahrez goal, but they had kicked off their tournament with a victory over Equatorial Guinea.

This showdown also carries historical significance, as it's only the second time these nations have faced each other in the AFCON finals. The first meeting dates back to the 2012 edition, when Sudan claimed a 2-1 victory.
