Ibrahim Mbaye
At just 17 years old, Ibrahim Mbaye is already an African champion after winning CAN 2025 with Senegal. The young PSG talent has no regrets about choosing to wear the colors of the Lions of Teranga.
On Sunday, Senegal clinched the CAN 2025 title against Morocco. Ibrahim Mbaye and the entire squad have been celebrated in Dakar over the past two days. The 17-year-old made the decision to represent Senegal a few months ago, even though he was eligible to play for France.
Used as a substitute during the tournament, Mbaye consistently made a strong impact whenever he came off the bench. A goal scorer and a decisive player, Ibrahim Mbaye stands out as one of the revelations of CAN 2025. For the Trappes native, it was the right choice. No regrets after lifting the trophy with the Lions of Teranga.
"Winning in our first CAN is huge. Seeing an entire nation behind us gives us immense joy. I will never regret choosing to play for Senegal because it was a decision from the heart. I want to thank everyone who supported us. It's thanks to them that we've come this far," he told Senegal's national television, RTS.
