Big blow for Jim Allevinah! The Gabonese international (26 caps, 8 goals) could be a notable absentee from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The reason? The Angers player is expected to undergo surgery to treat a calf injury that has been bothering him for several weeks.

"Jim has an issue with his calves. He will most likely undergo surgery," said Alexandre Dujeux at a press conference ahead of SCO's match against Lyon on Ligue 1's Matchday 5.

The 30-year-old pushed his calf during the last international break, playing against Ivory Coast (0-0).

His absence from CAN 2025 isn't official yet, but all signs point to him not recovering in time for the tournament. Unless there's a dramatic turnaround in his recovery, things aren't looking good for him.
