On Wednesday night, Morocco booked their ticket to the CAN 2025 final after knocking out Nigeria (0-0, 4-2 on penalties). This was the perfect opportunity for Morocco's head coach, Walid Regragui—who has faced significant criticism in recent months—to respond to his critics.

"I wasn't just shaken up—it was a completely unfair campaign. But that's okay, we accepted it, and the group protected me. The players love their coach, and I told them to show it on the pitch. I'm extremely happy for the Moroccan fans and also for the legends who came before us. Today, we're reaping the golden age of Moroccan football, but we must never forget where we came from," the coach told beIN Sports.
