Eliminated from the race for the 2026 World Cup by the DRC, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has announced a massive 55-man list to prepare for CAN 2025 in Morocco. Notably, several players from the domestic league have made the cut.

This preliminary squad features key names: William Ekong, Victor Oshimen, Wilfred Ndidi, Stanley Nwabali. Also included are Iwobi, Lookman, Chukwueze, Simon Moses, and several other regulars.

Several standouts from the Nigeria Premier Football League are also on the list, including Abdulrasheed Shehu, Ebenezer Harcourt, Ekeson Okorie, Chisom Orji, and Adekunle Adeleke. Chelle will trim the squad from 55 to 28 players in the coming days. The team will head to their training camp in Egypt on December 10, ahead of the CAN kickoff on December 21.
