The battle for the ultimate crown is heating up in this 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (2025).

Six nations have already punched their tickets to the quarter-finals: Morocco, who edged past Tanzania (1-0); Mali, victorious over Tunisia (3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw); Senegal, who defeated Sudan (3-1); Cameroon, who overcame South Africa (2-1); as well as Egypt and Nigeria, who secured their spots at the expense of Benin (3-1) and Mozambique (4-0) respectively.

The last two round of 16 matches will take place on Tuesday, January 6, featuring DR Congo versus Algeria, and Ivory Coast against Burkina Faso.

January 9, 2026, 19:00 GMT: Cameroon vs. Morocco; Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat

January 10, 2026, 16:00: Nigeria vs. DR Congo or Algeria; Marrakech Stadium, Marrakech

January 10, 2026, 19:00: Egypt vs. Ivory Coast or Burkina Faso; Adrar Stadium, Agadir
