Nigeria and Tanzania go head-to-head in the opening match of Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations – CAN 2025.
After falling short in the 2026 World Cup play-offs, Nigeria have no choice but to shine in this CAN and live up to their status as tournament favorites. The Super Eagles reached the final in 2023 before falling to Ivory Coast.
On the other side, Tanzania will rely on a well-balanced squad led by star player Mbwana Ally Samatta as they look to pull off an upset in this Group D, which also features Tunisia and Uganda.
The Super Eagles and the Taifa Stars will face off on Tuesday, December 23, at 17:30 GMT.
The match will be broadcast on beIN Sports, the official competition broadcaster, including beIN SPORTS 1 in France and beIN Sports Mena MAX 1, 2, and 3. New World TV, Canal+ CAN, and Canal+ Afrique’s 100% CAN channel will also air the tournament. The host country's channel, Arryadia, will serve as an official broadcaster as well.
