After a bruising first half, Mali and Tunisia head to the locker room level (0-0) in this Africa Cup of Nations 2025 round of 16 clash, a half marked by intense duels and repeated fouls from both sides. The tempo was frequently broken up, making for a fragmented and stop-start contest.
The turning point came with the sending off of Woyo Coulibaly in the 26th minute, shown a straight red card for a heavy challenge on Hannibal Mejbri, leaving the Malian Eagles down to ten men. Tunisia seized control and pushed forward, but couldn't turn their numerical advantage into a goal.
If the Carthage Eagles hope to reach the quarterfinals, they'll need to show a different face after the break. Tactical adjustments—especially in attack—are expected from Sami Trabelsi if Tunisia are to make the breakthrough.
