As part of their preparations for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, Algeria and Egypt will square off in a double-header of friendly matches. The aim is to be in top form for the final tournament, set to take place from March 17 to April 3, 2026, in Morocco.

The Egyptian Football Federation announced the two-legged friendly, which will be played on February 28 and March 2.

The Algerian women will compete in Group A, where they'll face Senegal (March 17), Morocco (March 20), and Kenya (March 23).

Meanwhile, the Egyptian squad will lock horns with Zambia (March 18), Malawi (March 21), and Nigeria (March 24) in Group C.

The 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations will mark Algeria's seventh appearance, with their best finish being a quarterfinal in 2024. As for Egypt, this will be their third time reaching the final tournament after 1998 and 2016, where they were eliminated in the group stage both times.
