In the midst of this discussion, Jamal Musiala clearly showed that he is making progress on the pitch. Against St. Pauli at the weekend, he was very strong with a goal, an assist and a shot on the post and was able to play more than 80 minutes on the pitch. In general, it looked as if Musiala had shed some of the shyness about dribbling and tackling that was normal after his serious injury. He is on the road to recovery, but must now confirm his development. The game against Real was encouraging for him, but also for national coach Julian Nagelsmann

He was immediately asked about the playmaker’s chances of taking part in the World Cup. The national coach told Magenta TV: „If the doctors say that there is no risk to his career, then there is absolutely nothing to stop us taking him to the World Cup.“

In other words, if Musiala confirms his improving form, he will be called up to the DFB squad at the end of the season, provided nothing intervenes.
