Tottenham Hotspur will aim to pick up a first Premier League win of 2026 against Burnley on Saturday.

After failing to win any of their opening five matches of 2026, Tottenham faced Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday with little margin for error.

Manager Thomas Frank stared down the barrel of dismissal, but goals from Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke got the job done to move Spurs within touching distance of a place in the last-16.

They return to domestic duty looking to capitalise on that momentum and move up the Premier League table, where they are currently 14th.

Spurs have won each of their last five matches against Burnley across all competitions, but their 3-0 triumph back in August’s curtain-raiser now seems a long time ago.

With two-thirds of their current tally of 27 points coming in away matches, Saturday’s visitors have the second-best record on the road of any Premier League side.

Touted as one of the favourites to be relegated, Burnley have struggled on their return to the top flight.

Scott Parker’s men are 19th in the standings after 22 matches with 14 points, a whopping eight adrift of safety ahead of their upcoming encounter against Spurs.

However, since a 2-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in their 2026 opener, the Clarets have gone three matches without defeat, including draws against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Burnley must start picking up wins sooner rather than later to avoid dropping back down to the second tier.
