Canada capped off their Gold Cup group campaign with a comfortable win over El Salvador, who spent all of the second-half down to nine men.
Scorers: David 53', Buchanan 56'
The fireworks came late in the first-half when Jairo Henríquez and Santos Ortíz were both given their marching orders in quick succession. Scuffles erupted throughout the pitch, and an El Salvador staff member was all sent off in the mayhem.
After the break it did not take Canada long to flex their muscles with the two-man advantage, as Jonathan David and Tajon Buchanan found the back of the net within three minutes of each other.
While it was slow going in the first-half, Canada will be buoyed by finishing the group stage unbeaten and will now turn their attention to a knockout showdown with Guatemala.
