RABAT, Morocco – The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2025 continued as Canada and Brazil played to a nil-nil draw, with the South Americans advancing 5-4 on penalties, in the Quarterfinals on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium of Rabat in Rabat, Morocco.
Both teams tried to break the deadlock in the first half of this Quarterfinal match. Melissa Kekic and captain Chole Taylor tried their chances to give Canada the advantage, reaching half time without goals for any side.
Goalkeeper Khadijah Cisse and the Canadian defensive line proved their composure against the Brazilian pressure in the second half and held the opposition scoreless until the end of regular time, as neither team managed to put a goal on the score board.
With the stalemate through full time, a penalty shootout was necessary to determine the winner. Bridget Mutipula’s shot was stopped by Brazilian goalkeeper Ana Morganti. Cisse couldn't save the last shot by Brazil, who won 5-4 on spot kicks, as Canada exited the tournament.
