Canada became the first side into the last 16 of their World Cup, beating South Africa 1-0 with a strike from Eustáquio in the 92nd minute.

Monday brings three last-32 contests, starting with Brazil v Japan. Pre-match talk focused on Neymar’s potential minutes under Ancelotti, while Moriyasu struck an upbeat note, saying Japan should aim to win the World Cup and that they have chances against Brazil.
Ouahbi, Koeman and Nagelsmann also spoke. Germany’s coach called Paraguay an awkward opponent given their defensive identity, and Havertz noted that South American teams have quality, citing Ecuador.
Morocco are looking to Brahim for inspiration, while the Netherlands hope to dedicate a victory to Gakpo after a family loss. Koeman stressed their support for the forward and that football is a secondary concern.
