Canada wins inaugural W Futsal Championship, Club América takes postseason Clásico de México

MIAMI — A new champion will be crowned in one of the top Concacaf W leagues when Club América and CF Pachuca meet for the Clausura 2025 in the Liga MX Femenil.
One of the four teams to play the 2025 Concacaf W Champions Cup Finals later this month, América will seek to arrive as league champions. Out of season Tigres UANL prepares for the competition while NJ/NY Gotham FC and Portland Thorns FC are top five in the early NWSL season.
In international competition, the first edition of the Concacaf W Futsal Championship has concluded with Canada prevailing as the inaugural champion.

Northern Super League: Montreal continues to lead
Canada’s top flight contested its third matchweek with three encounters. AFC Toronto earned a 2-1 win over Calgary Wild FC with a brace from Esther Okoronkwo.
Montreal Roses FC took a 2-1 win against Ottawa Rapid FC as Tanya Boychuk joined the top scorers race with her second of the season. Vancouver Rise FC won 1-nil against Halifax Tides FC with the lone goal from Jasmyne Spencer.
Montreal continues in first place with nine points, followed by Vancouver with six. Calgary, Ottawa, and Toronto each have three points. Halifax occupies last place with zero points.
NWSL: Kansas City, Orlando still deadlocked for first place
Week 7 in the 2025 NWSL season saw the Pacific Northwest hand defeats to the league leaders. First place Kansas City Current fell 1-nil at Seattle Reign and second place Orlando Pride lost by the same score at Portland Thorns FC.
San Diego Wave FC is third in the table after a 2-1 win over California rival Bay FC. NJ/NY Gotham FC drew scoreless with Chicago Stars.
USL Super League: Playoff positioning intensifies
The USL Super League 2024/25 campaign kicked off the final month of its inaugural season, with the top four to be decided for the first-ever playoffs.
Sixth-place Fort Lauderdale United FC fell 4-1 at home to fifth-place Brooklyn FC, once the leader in the overall standings and currently fifth to get back in the playoff mix.
Carolina Ascent FC retained the top spot despite not playing over the weekend. Second-place Dallas Trinity FC fell 1-nil to third-place Tampa Bay Sun FC, bringing the gap between the two down to a point.
Spokane Zephyr FC has the final playoff spot, on goal difference, with a 2-nil win over last-place Lexington SC.
Liga MX Femenil: Liguilla Final is set
The Clausura 2025 championship will come down to the two teams that have been contesting the top of the table all season.
Club América prevailed 4-2 on aggregate over rivals CD Guadalajara in the Clásico de México. The first leg ended 2-2 in Guadalajara before the Mexico City side won by two at home.
CF Pachuca won 4-2 on aggregate against CF Monterrey. Rayadas took a 1-nil win in the first leg, but a Chinwendu Ihezuo hat-trick would help the Tuzas to a 4-1 home win in the second leg.
Pachuca will host the first leg of the Final on Friday at the Estadio Hidalgo. The second leg will take place on Monday at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City.
LFF Panama: Playoff race down to the wire
The second-to-last matchday in Panama’s Torneo Apertura 2025 saw three clubs take victories on the road.
Santa Fe FC leads the packed Eastern Conference with 29 points after a 6-nil win at Union Coclé FC. Chorillo FC is second on goal difference with 28 points, despite a 2-1 loss at Mario Méndez FC, the Western Conference leader with 31 points.
UMECIT FC improved to 26 points in the East with a 7-nil win at Tevi Coclé FC. Club Internacional also has 26 points in fourth place in the East with a 3-nil win at Deportivo Chiriquí FC.
The final matchday will take place on Wednesday, with the final seeding for the playoffs at stake.
Concacaf W Futsal Championship: Canada wins first edition
The 2025 Concacaf W Futsal Championship concluded on Sunday to cap off a historic first edition at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Canada won in the final, 8-2, against Panama.
As finalists, Canada and Panama will represent Concacaf at the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup Philippines 2025 later this year.
