Chelsea have completed the signing of Canadian international full-back Ashley Lawrence on a three-year deal.

The Blues announced the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

Lawrence joins Chelsea from French club Paris Saint-Germain where she has spent the last six-and-a-half years of her career. The defender won the D1 Arkema title with The Parisians along with two French Cups. She was also a UEFA Women’s Champions League runner-up with the club in 2016/2017.

On the international stage, Lawrence has 117 senior caps to her name for Canada while she has scored eight goals.

After completing her move to Chelsea, Lawrence said “I’m really excited and grateful to be joining such a top club in England and in Europe. There are a lot of emotions, excitement and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, the rest of the players and staff and to next season.”

Lawrence becomes the third Canadian international to join Chelsea in recent seasons. The Blues also have defender Kadeisha Buchanan and midfielder Jessie Fleming on their books.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has now added five players to her squad in the summer transfer window. Lawrence joins Nicky Evrard, Sjoeke Nüsken, Catarina Macario and Alejandra Bernabé at Kingsmeadow.
