Carabao Cup round-up: Sávio scores on debut, Burnley out on penalties | OneFootball

New Tottenham Hotspur arrival Sávio, the winger formerly known as Savinho, scores on his debut as his side put five past Charlton Athletic.

It took until the 42nd minute for the Premier League team to show their superiority over second-tier opposition when Mikey Moore put his side ahead before Dominic Solanke made it 2-0 before the break.

Defender Kevin Danso came on with just over an hour gone and made an instant impact to make it 3-0 before another player from the bench, the debuting Sávio, made it 4-0 in the 82nd minute.

Another defender, Ben Davies, bagged Spurs' fifth goal of the night before fellow Welshman Lloyd Jones scored a consolation for his side.

Spurs weren't the only Premier League side to win big though, Everton enjoyed a 4-0 win over Preston North End at Deepdale – a familiar stomping ground for manager David Moyes.

It was Thierno Barry who made the difference with a hat-trick before Brennan Johnson came off the bench to score his first goal for the Toffees.

Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion put up more of a resistance away to Newcastle United. New arrival Bazoumana Touré started the game and scored his first goal for the club in the 38th minute.

Manager Matthias Jaissle decided to replace Touré with Harvey Barnes at half-time though, a decision that saw Barnes bag a brace. 

The Baggies had taken the lead in the game initially though through Isaac Price who then equalised from the spot in the 77th minute before Barnes' winner.

Finally, Championship side Burnley were knocked out by League One outfit Bradford City after a goalless draw with the Bantams then winning 4-2 on penalties.
