Cardiff City defenders closing in on returns in big boost for Barry-Murphy | OneFootball

Brian Barry-Murphy has revealed Dylan Lawlor could return for Cardiff City next week after making quicker than expected progress.

The defender is yet to feature this season and Saturday’s Championship trip to Bolton will come too soon, but Lawlor could now return before the September international break.

“Dylan is making really good progress,” Barry-Murphy said. “Saturday we think will come too soon for him.

“Dylan’s ahead of that [international window timescale], where he has a chance of being fit for next week.”

Will Fish is also progressing but is expected to return to full training during the international break, while Rubin Colwill is a doubt for Bolton because of an ankle problem.

There was less positive news on Isaak Davies, who is expected to miss around three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in training.

“Isaak just had a slight hamstring issue before the game on Monday,” Barry-Murphy said. “And he’s going to be out for maybe three weeks.”
