Cardiff City player issues plea to supporters regarding managerial situation | OneFootball

Cardiff City defender Perry Ng has asked his side’s supporters to remain patient and stick with the club throughout the next four games before the World Cup, speaking to Wales Online.

The Bluebirds welcome Watford to the Welsh capital this evening amid a busy schedule, with the former facing Slaven Bilic’s men, travelling to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland at the weekend, returning home next Tuesday against Hull City and then remaining at the Cardiff City Stadium to host promotion contenders Sheffield United.

Currently sitting in 17th position, they are in real danger of being in or around the relegation zone by the time the World Cup break comes along with the Blades and the Hornets both having extremely strong squads on paper.

The Black Cats will also be a formidable force on their home turf and Hull look set to welcome Liam Rosenior back to the MKM Stadium, with a new manager bounce potentially harming Mark Hudson’s side.

Speaking of Hudson, his future in the Welsh capital is currently unclear with the club yet to appoint a permanent boss to succeed Steve Morison, creating uncertainty for supporters who will be desperate to get behind a manager for the long term.

Ng believes the supporters need to focus on the short term though as he reached out.

He said: “Just stay patient. We’ve got four big games coming up.

“Stick with us. Hopefully we will see what happens at the World Cup break.”

Ng also went on to admit that they are in a middle ground at the moment, so he will know more than anyone else how the supporters feel and it’s good to see him address the supporters through the media.

The onus shouldn’t be on him to come out and address the supporters though – that has to be down to Mehmet Dalman and Vincent Tan who took the decision to relieve Morison of his duties in the first place.

It was a bizarre decision to let him go after letting him rebuild the squad – because it was apparent to most people before the season started that patience was going to be required at the Cardiff City Stadium.

It wasn’t a case of adding four or five players and needing time for them to adapt – it was a big rebuild and one that took quite a while for Morison to complete as he looked to reduce the wage bill and create a squad worthy of competing in this division.

Now it’s down to the Bluebirds’ board to either back Hudson permanently following this set of games or focus on their managerial recruitment process. They can’t just keep Hudson as interim boss.
