Cardiff part ways with Omer Riza

Cardiff City have decided to part ways with manager Omer Riza, with only three matches left in the Championship season.

Riza was informed of the decision on Saturday, following a 2-0 loss to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Good Friday, which left the team 23rd in the table, just one point off safety.

Wales captain Aaron Ramsey has been named as the interim manager for the final three games, as the Bluebirds fight to avoid relegation.

He’ll be joined by former Wales teammate and current Wales Under-19s manager Chris Gunter, as well as Cardiff midfielder Joe Ralls, with their first match in charge being Monday’s clash against Oxford United at Cardiff City Stadium.

Cardiff City FC can confirm that Omer Riza has been relieved of his duties as First Team Manager. Aaron Ramsey will lead the Club for the remaining three games of the Championship season, beginning with Monday’s match at home to Oxford United. #CityAsOne
