Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he will be watching on intently this evening, when Atlético Madrid and Barcelona lock horns in La Liga.

The headline fixture of the weekend in Spain is of course set to play out in short order.

As much will see Diego Simeone’s Atlético act as hosts, in a meeting with high-flying Barcelona.

The clash marks a crucial one when it comes to the La Liga title race, pitting 2nd against 3rd, after Real Madrid took over ownership of top spot courtesy of a 2-1 downing of Villarreal on Saturday.

Fully aware of just how significant the fixture is when it comes to the battle for silverware in Spain’s top-flight, Carlo Ancelotti, in turn, was this weekend drawn on whether or not he intends to tune in.

And Real Madrid’s headmaster did not hesitate in confirming:
