Real Madrid fans have seemingly received some good news on the injury front at last. Following Kylian Mbappé’s early substitution in their 3-1 win over Atalanta, the club’s manager Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update.
When speaking to the press following the match in Italy, as per Movistar, Ancelotti said “Mbappé has an overload and discomfort. It doesn’t seem to be anything serious.”
This update will have fans of Los Blancos breathing a sigh of relief, as they will have likely been fearing the worst given the scary amount of injuries the club has been facing in recent weeks and months.
Likely, Mbappé will still undergo tests to find out exactly why he wasn’t able to play on with his discomfort and whether the striker requires any treatment, but Ancelotti’s initial assessment will ease some worries.
The news couldn’t come at a better time either, as Real Madrid are set to have an extremely busy period over the next few months. The club will play 10 matches before the end of January with two separate trips to the Middle East in that time.
With that much football and travel in such a short space of time, Carlo Ancelotti needs as many hands on deck as he can get.
