Real Madrid’s recent loss to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League have rung alarm bells inside the camp, with doubts creeping in about Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian’s future came under the radar shortly after the 2-0 loss, with many expecting Santiago Solari to immediately take over as the interim coach.
It must be noted that Real Madrid have already identified their ideal successor to Ancelotti in the form of Xabi Alonso, who will be available next summer.
However, according to MARCA, it appears Ancelotti has received the backing of president Florentino Perez despite the recent results.
Although the recent defeats have been quite painful, the club still maintain confidence in Ancelotti’s ability to steady the ship.
In fact, Perez believes Real Madrid are still in safe hands. The club’s renewed trust on Ancelotti perhaps stems from the fact that Real Madrid haven’t had it easy this season.

The club had to deal with various injury setbacks, including the most recent knock to star player Vinicius Junior.
This is coupled with the lack of a vocal leader in the team, especially following the injury to veteran Dani Carvajal and the summer exits of Nacho Fernandez and Toni Kroos.
In addition to backing Ancelotti, Real Madrid have also categorically denied rumours about Solari and Alonso.
Solari was reportedly prepped to take on the role of an interim coach before Alonso arrives at Santiago Bernabeu next season.
Real Madrid, though, maintain that no such plans are in place, at least till Ancelotti is in charge of the club.
