Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has fired something of a warning the way of his players on Saturday evening.
This comes after an outing to forget for Los Blancos on the domestic front.
After making the trip to Seville for a La Liga meeting with Real Betis, the reigning Spanish champions found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result.
This came after Brahim Díaz’s early opener was cancelled out by Johnny Cardoso, setting the stage for ex-Real Madrid star Isco to notch the game’s decisive goal from the penalty spot early in the 2nd-half.
And one individual under no illusions when it comes to the level of his side’s performance on Saturday comes in the form of Carlo Ancelotti.
Speaking to the media in his post-match press conference tonight, Real Madrid’s headmaster was asked for his take on the club’s showing at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
And Ancelotti was not shy in taking firm aim at his players:
“Bad game. We deserved to lose. Our attack pressed their backline well in the opening 20 minutes, then it was very bad for the next 70 minutes.”
The Italian tactician went on to conclude:
“If we play like this on Tuesday (against Atlético Madrid), we will not win.”
