Carlo Ancelotti to watch Corinthians v Cruzeiro at Mineirão | OneFootball

The Brazilian federation has confirmed Carlo Ancelotti and Rodrigo Caetano will attend Corinthians v Cruzeiro at Mineirão in Belo Horizonte on Wednesday.

The match is scheduled for 20:00 in the fourth round of the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro.

Ancelotti will use the trip to assess players who could make his next squad, due to be announced on 16 March for friendlies with France and Croatia. It will be the last call-up before the World Cup.

Since taking charge in May last year, only Hugo Souza has been called from Corinthians. The goalkeeper made all four of Ancelotti’s squads, withdrew from the latest international window through injury, and his sole start came on 14 October in a 3-2 defeat by Japan.

Full-backs Matheus Bidu and Matheuzinho are also set to be monitored by the Brazil staff.

Corinthians, led by Dorival Júnior, Ancelotti’s predecessor with Brazil, are likely to rotate. They face Novorizontino in the Campeonato Paulista semi-final on Saturday at 20:30 at Estádio Dr. Jorge Ismael de Biasi.
