Carlos Carvalhal will be remembered well by Sheffield Wednesday supporters, and the former Owls boss is set to make a timely return to Hillsborough.
It's been a difficult few years for Sheffield Wednesday and the club's supporters to try and battle through, but the Owls are slowly heading in the right direction off the pitch.
The club has been mismanaged for a number of seasons now whilst under the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri, who finally placed the club into administration relatively early in the 2025/26 season.
The Owls have been restricted by off-field restrictions when it comes to signing players, which has hampered any sort of progress they were looking to make this term.
Sheffield Wednesday have already had their relegation from the Championship confirmed this season, and they'll be looking to make a swift return to the second tier of English football in the 2026/27 campaign.
There hasn't been much to look forward to for Sheffield Wednesday supporters in recent times, but there is a certain event after this year's campaign has reached a conclusion which will catch the eye of the Hillsborough faithful.
Earlier this month, Sheffield Wednesday announced that tickets for the Sheffield Wednesday Community charity match were on sale, and that former manager, Carlos Carvalhal, and players from the 2015/16 play-off campaign would be returning to play their part in the event.
The game itself takes place on Saturday 9th May, in what looks set to be a memorable day to look forward to for the club's supporters.

Ahead of his return to Hillsborough, Carvalhal sent a message to the Sheffield Wednesday fanbase, and encouraged them to purchase their tickets in time for the event.
The 2015/16 season is one that will stick with Sheffield Wednesday supporters for the right reasons, although they fell agonisingly short in their efforts to win promotion into the Premier League.
The Owls finished sixth in the Championship table in that campaign, before going on to beat Brighton & Hove Albion over two legs in their play-off semi-final.
However, they were narrowly beaten by Hull City in the final at Wembley, as Mohamed Diamé's goal denied Sheffield Wednesday the chance to return to the top-flight for the first time in 16 years at the time.

Carvalhal has a relatively long managerial CV, but he certainly caught the eye whilst in charge of Sheffield Wednesday, in what was his first spell in English football.
He took charge of the Owls in 2015, and guided them into the Championship play-offs in both of his first two seasons with the club, and although both of those play-off campaigns ended in frustration, there were plenty that thought highly of the 60-year-old for his contributions towards Sheffield Wednesday.
Carvalhal left Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent in December 2017, before going on to take charge of Swansea City. That spell with the Swans didn't last long though, as he departed after the club were relegated from the Premier League in the 2017/18 season.
The former Owls boss was most recently in charge of Portuguese side, Braga, in what was his third spell with the club, and it remains to be seen as to where his next managerial job will be taken up at.
Sheffield Wednesday are set to return to action on Friday 3rd April, when they take on Stoke City, in what is certain to be a tough test for them, with the Owls winless since September, in what was their only win of the 2025/26 campaign, which came against Portsmouth.
