Levante UD are close to selling Carlos Espí, with the striker nearing an exit from the Ciutat de València.

According to Superdeporte, multiple clubs have stepped up talks with Levante and the player in recent weeks, and the club are evaluating several bids that meet their summer valuation. A final decision is being weighed, and unless there is a major late twist, his departure is viewed as almost settled.

Espí did not feature in Sunday’s friendly against Al Qadsiah to avoid jeopardising the move. Days earlier he scored in pre-season in Levante’s new kit, a strike that may prove his last for the club.

One of Europe’s standout scorers in 2026, he was included in Spain’s World Cup preliminary list as Spain claimed a second star. His game has broadened, he now intimidates defences, wins duels and helps Levante play higher.

His impact underpinned a historic survival, bringing crucial income alongside any transfer fee and offering the club breathing space. Levante will now have to find a new number nine who can make the difference in the box.
