Carlos Silva has left Benfica and will become head scout at Grêmio, working with Luís Castro in Brazil.
After less than two years identifying talent in the Brazilian market for the club, he accepted an offer from the Porto Alegre side, CNN Portugal reports.
Before returning to Benfica, Silva built much of his career at Farense, where he was chief scout and later technical director, earning recognition for his work in scouting and recruitment.
This was his second spell at Benfica. He previously worked in the scouting department in 2022/23, coinciding with Roger Schmidt’s arrival. That season ended with the club’s 38th league title, after which he left to pursue other projects.
He now takes on expanded responsibilities at Grêmio, one of Brazil’s most storied clubs. The Porto Alegre team are 16th in the Brasileirão.
