Carnevali confirms Kolo Muani close as Juventus track Alajbegovic | OneFootball

Juventus are closing in on the permanent signing of Randal Kolo Muani, according to chief executive Giovanni Carnevali, who also offered updates on Kerim Alajbegović and Dušan Vlahović.

With quotes via calciomercato.com, Carnevali spoke at a La Stampa event and confirmed the long-running pursuit of Kolo Muani is nearing its end.

“We are closing the Kolo Muani deal now, it’s a negotiation that has been going on for a long time,” the former Sassuolo executive said.

“When I arrived at Juve, I read in the papers that it was already a done deal, but that wasn’t the case. There were difficulties, and we had to repair relations with Paris Saint-Germain, fixing the previous problems. We’re finalising it in these hours and we’re in the concluding phase.”

Carnevali plays down Juventus progress on Alajbegović

Carnevali was more guarded on Bosnian winger Alajbegović, the talented player who caught the eye at the World Cup. “With him we’re a bit further behind, but we’re working on it,” he said.

“It’s a significant investment, but a club like Juve also has to think about the future. He’s a class-of-2007 and has the characteristics we’re looking for.”

The Juventus CEO was also asked about Vlahović, whose future in Turin remains the subject of speculation, and was keen to stress he has played no part in any stand-off.

“I’ve never met him,” he said. “I know Juve made him an offer that wasn’t accepted. I’ve always made myself available, but I’ve never had any meetings.”

With Kolo Muani on the brink and the Alajbegović talks live, Carnevali’s first summer window at the Juventus helm is taking shape.
