Sixteen-year-old goalkeeper Carol Paiva has taken part in her first training session with Corinthians’ women’s first team during the international break. The squad kept working at their training centre under head coach Emily Lima while the calendar paused for FIFA dates.
Meu Timao reports that with 10 players away on international duty, academy prospects were drafted in, including Paiva, who later marked the opportunity on social media.
Among those called up was goalkeeper Lelê, selected by Arthur Elias for Brazil. That left the Brabas with Nicole Ramos, Ana Morganti and Rillary in the position, and with new goalkeeping coach Joe Montero, from Peru, staff have used academy keepers to complete drills. Bianca de Gois, newly signed for the under-20s, also trained.
Paiva joined the Brabas’ academy at the start of 2024 after time with PSG Academy in Brazil and experience in futsal. She has since stood out, earning Brazil under-15 call-ups and representing São Paulo state students at the School Games, finishing third in futsal.
In 2025, with the under-17s, she was back-up to Morganti, who has since been promoted to the senior squad. Paiva is eyeing the starting role for the Brabinhas in the Paulista and Brasileiro under-17 competitions, with Corinthians set to defend the national title won in 2025.
The under-17 Paulista is scheduled for late April, while the Brasileiro is expected to begin in mid-March.
