Carrick criticises Man Utd decision-making in Everton draw | OneFootball

Michael Carrick has said Manchester United’s decision-making cost them as his side dropped points at Everton.

Manchester United conceded a 96th-minute equaliser at Everton, as Ainsley-Maitland Niles secured a dramatic point for the Toffees at Hill Dickinson Stadium. United had twice led in the contest, including a goal from Benjamin Sesko on 87 minutes, but were unable to see the game out.

United have conceded six goals across their first three games of the Premier League season in a concerning trend for Carrick’s side.

Speaking to Sky Sports at full-time, the Manchester United manager said poor decisions when defending the box ultimately cost his team all three points.

“There was a lot of good things in the game for us. We played some really good football, were dangerous at times.

“For the most part, we defended well as a team. The longer the game went on there were a few more balls into the box and a few decisions we made it more difficult for us when we should have seen it out really. We’re disappointed we didn’t come away with a win.

“We haven’t started the season that bad, to be honest. We were that close to coming away with three points today. That’s football, little moments that we can deal with a bit better, but we’ll be fine.”
