Mason Mount has high hopes for Benjamin Sesko following his stellar maiden campaign at Manchester United.

The midfielder believes his teammate could well become ‘one of the best strikers in the world’ if he continues on his upward trajectory.

Such a claim will be music to United fans’ ears, as they’re ready to put their faith in Sesko and watch him develop into a prolific No.9.

If the Slovenian’s efforts last season are anything to go by, he’s certainly got it in his locker, as he produced some outstanding finishes on numerous occasions before his term was abruptly ended due to injury.

Sesko just managed to notch his 11th Premier League goal of 2025/2026 against arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford before a shin problem was re-aggravated, ruling him out of United’s final three fixtures.

The issue has kept him sidelined for all of the side’s pre-season action thus far, though there are hopes the 23-year-old will be fit in time to feature against Hull City on opening day next weekend.

What Mount had to say about ‘unbelievable’ Sesko

When Sesko does return, he’ll still be battling with his counterparts Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for a starting spot leading the line, while the impending addition of Marcus Rashford won’t make matters any easier for him.

However, the former RB Leipzig star will likely take the chance to impress the manager with both hands and do all he can in the opportunities he does get to stake his claim.

Weighing in on Sesko’s talents, Mount told Sky Sports back in May: “From day one, from my point of view, as soon as I saw him in training… there’s definitely something there.
