GE.com reports that CAS, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, has set a 28 May hearing in the dispute between Santos and Pedro Caixinha’s coaching staff.
A ruling is not expected on the day, and the club is waiting on the outcome.
At the end of last year, Fifa ordered Santos to pay US$ 2 million to the Portuguese staff, and the board appealed to CAS, the final instance.
Of five actions brought by the staff against the club, Santos has won one, against assistant José Guilherme Oliveira. In Caixinha’s case, the club secured a reduction of approximately R$ 600 thousand, trimming around R$ 1.4 million from the total award.
Caixinha was dismissed on 14 April 2025 after no agreement was reached. On 29 April, the terminations of Caixinha and assistants Pedro Malta, José Belman and José Oliveira were registered in the CBF’s BID, the Daily Informative Bulletin.
He oversaw 18 matches in 2025, with seven wins, four draws and seven defeats, scoring 30 and conceding 22, a 46% return. In the Paulistão there were 14 games, six wins, three draws and five defeats, goals 23-16. The friendly ended 4-1, and in the Brasileirão he had three games, one draw and two defeats, goals 3-5.
