Casa Pia right-back Gaizka Larrazabal joins Bolton after Benfica suggestion | OneFootball

Casa Pia right-back Gaizka Larrazabal has joined Bolton, who play in the Championship, the second tier of English football.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 28-year-old had been suggested to Benfica, but his next step is in England.

Larrazabal departs after three standout seasons with Casa Pia, recording 109 appearances, 12 goals and 10 assists. He has signed a contract running to June 2028.

In his first comments as a Bolton player, he highlighted the club’s history and referenced former stars Fernando Hierro, Nicolás Anelka and Jay-Jay Okocha, saying the decision was straightforward.

He described himself as fast and strong with good crossing, adding that he gets up and down the flank with energy.

Comparing leagues, he noted Spanish football is more tactical and Portuguese football also physical. He said he reads situations well and believes he will adapt to the English game.
