According to as.com, the Investigating Court at the Tribunal de Instancia in Aoiz, Navarra, has dismissed and closed a criminal complaint alleging fraud and misappropriation over a high-end car purchase at the end of 2024 against Iñaki Williams, Nico Williams and others, finding no indication of any offence.

The ruling, dated 30 March 2026, says there is no evidential basis to continue the preliminary proceedings under the abbreviated procedure. The decision confirms there is no case to answer for the two Athletic players, in line with their earlier public denials and their video-call statements to the court.

Away from the case, Nico is stepping up his recovery after easing pubalgia discomfort. He has spent a month and a half working with physio Mendigutxia in Barañáin.

The winger is aiming to feature on Sunday against Getafe, fitness permitting.

He is also active commercially. Red Bull Rey del Barrio, a new street-rooted football tournament, is 4vs4 with no goalkeepers and has the Athletic wide man as ambassador. It will run across Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao in May, with a national final in Bilbao, and entries are open until the week before each qualifier.
