Casparij, Hasegawa and Shaw named in PFA WSL Team of the Year | OneFootball

Congratulations to City trio Kerstin Casparij, Yui Hasegawa and Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw, who have been selected in the 2025/26 PFA WSL Team of the Year.

Voted for by their fellow professionals, our three Blues have gained recognition for their individual performances in Andrée Jeglertz’s side’s historic campaign.

All three played integral roles in the Barclays Women’s Super League title triumph and Adobe Women’s FA Cup success, which saw us win the Double for the first time in our professional history.

For Casparij, it’s her first inclusion in the team, with the flying fullback scoring three goals and registering eight assists in all competitions last term.

And by providing for her team-mates seven times in the WSL in 2025/26 she topped the division’s assist chart alongside Aston Villa’s Lynn Wilms.

To further underline her impact, Casparij also became only the third defender in WSL history to register double figures for goal involvements in a single season.

Meanwhile, Hasegawa’s inclusion means she’s been recognised in the prestigious side in each of her four seasons at City.

Another remarkable campaign by the Japan international saw her afforded more freedom to maraud into attacking areas last season, which saw her score four goals and register four assists.

It also means that Hasegawa has made the PFA WSL Team of the Year more times than any other City player in the history of our women’s team.

Finally, by reaching even loftier heights with the Blues last season, Shaw is the Club’s final inclusion.

The Jamaican striker scored an impressive 27 goals in 32 outings in all competitions last season with her top-flight tally of 21 helping her win the WSL Golden Boot for the third successive season – a record for the division.

The 2025/26 PFA Players’ Player of the Year also became City’s first Women’s player to reach, and then surpass, 100 goals by bagging four in a 6-1 win over Aston Villa in December.

Manchester City Women’s Sporting Director Therese Sjögran led the tributes to our stars: “I’d like to wish a huge congratulations to Kerstin, Yui and Bunny on being included in the PFA Team of the Year.

“This is a special individual award and one that I know, as a former player myself, means a lot - even though I know all of them will stress that they’re more focused on the team’s success than their own!

“That’s a measure of their mentality though, and why the Club values them all so much - they are tremendous footballers who we’re delighted to have, but even better people.”
