Former Italian striker Antonio Cassano is still highly critical of Massimiliano Allegri, claiming that the Milan coach will ‘end up being forgotten’ like José Mourinho.
Milan are the Serie A table leaders, level on 28 points with Napoli, after 13 rounds, but the Rossoneri’s style of play surely isn’t appealing to former Roma star Cassano.

“Remember what I said about Mourinho being finished and that sooner or later he would end up being forgotten. The same will happen to Allegri,” Cassano said during Viva El Football podcast via Milan News.
“I can’t imagine Milan in 2025 playing dreadful football because of their coach: Milan are history, beauty, aesthetics and quality. And what do they do? Everyone sits in front of the goalkeeper; there’s no depth, then you win the ball back, counter-attack and score.”
Milan have only lost one game this season, on their 2025-26 Serie A debut against Cremonese in August. The Rossoneri have grabbed eight wins and four draws in Serie A since then.

Overall, they have scored 19 goals and conceded nine in 13 Serie A rounds.
A former Bari, Roma, Sampdoria, Inter, Parma and Milan striker, Cassano won just one Scudetto in his career, and he did so in the 2010-11 season under Allegri at Milan.
The Rossoneri will play again this coming Thursday in an away Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie against Lazio.
