El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that Castellón v Racing ended in a mass melee at SkyFi Castalia, with Íñigo Vicente at the centre.
The game had already boiled over amid anger at referee Salvador Lax. He dismissed Jéremy Mellot and Pablo Hernández in stoppage time.
Vicente was substituted in the 89th minute, then circled the pitch to reach the bench while applauding and blowing kisses towards the stands.
After full time, and following the customary celebration with the away fans, he approached the Tribuna stand. Something then happened, apparently involving a person from his entourage, which triggered a fracas as several Castellón players moved to supposedly defend their supporters.
Players and staff from both clubs intervened to calm things. The incident ended with Vicente led to the tunnel by his own coaches.
In the press room, Pablo Hernández said he had been told about the clash and could not judge it because he did not see it. He added he was informed Vicente confronted Castellón’s support and, if so, players must know how to win away, accept that the home crowd will shout, and take responsibility if they respond.
The referee’s report did not record the post-match scenes, the official having left the pitch immediately after the final whistle.
