Castellón province is experiencing a surge in reserve sides, with 26 affiliate teams now active across regional and national levels, comprising 21 B teams and five C teams.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, representation at the higher tiers is sparse. In the national set-up, Tercera Federación features only Villarreal C as a reserve team. That side serves as a springboard towards the professional game, while Lliga Comunitat Nord is the region’s only official competition without one.

Drop one tier to Primera FFCV and only CD Roda B remains. Numbers rise in Segunda FFCV, where four B teams compete. They are Almazora B, Onda B, Alqueries B and Vall de Uxó B.

The bulk sits lower down, with 19 affiliates spread across the first four groups of Tercera FFCV. Third teams Onda C, Odisea C, Almazora C and CD Castellón C line up at this level.

They share pitches with 15 B sides, among them Joventut Almassora B, L’Alcora B, Nules B and Burriana B. The pattern underscores clubs’ efforts to retain local talent and build clear pathways.
