Martin added that he feels his players have been "fighting" and "competitive", despite still not picking up a win in the Premier League this season: "We haven't felt like we have come away with what we should have, but we have to make sure we put it right. It is a long old season and we have been so competitive and so close.

Southampton boss Russell Martin is our last coach of the day, with the Saints man speaking ahead of their game against Everton.

On whether the last two results against Manchester City and Stoke City will have a "cumulative effect" on his side's confidence: "I hope so. I don't think the players have ever lost or lacked belief in what they are doing. I think good results help, good performances help and good processes help. There was a level of pride after the Manchester City performance last week and a really good feeling after the Stoke City game."

Villa have a pretty packed schedule over the next few weeks, but Emery is focused on the job at hand.

"My focus is on the next match and I am thinking only about this.

"Sometimes I am planning for the weeks coming or months, but I want to learn with experiences. I tell my players to try to be focused on the next match. It is about which players are the best to play the match against Tottenham. For me, the focus is on the match against Tottenham.

"Every match we are playing, we are trying to identify our corrections, our mistakes, our process, and we are analysing how we are now and how are they, with the players they have."

Villa face Spurs this weekend and Emery has been coy on his gameplan for the clash.

And some team news from the Spanish tactician: ""We had only one injured player and it’s Ross Barkley. He has a small injury, but he’s not going to be available for the next two weeks."

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is next up and has started his press conference by paying condolences to those who have been affected by the devastating floods in Valencia.

"I want to send my condolences. We had a tragedy in Valencia, I am very sad. All my condolences for the people affected and to the families of the victims. Hopefully they can recover again quick with everything that happened there."

The Manchester City boss has refused to give any advice to Amorim ahead of his appointment, saying: "No advice. I'm not the right person to give advice to colleagues. Not because he's United, I think they have a lot of people in United that will tell him the situation in the club so I cannot give him advice..."

Guardiola also welcomed new Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim to the Premier League: ""Welcome to United, to England, and I congratulate him next Tuesday. We faced each other two or three seasons ago in the Champions League so yeah, welcome..."

Pep on whether this is now a chance for young players to step up: ""Yep, it can happen..."

Pep was asked as to whether this injury crisis means he will spend some money in January?

"Maybe in January we'll have the whole squad fit, except Rodri, Oscar [Bobb] in the last stages. When we are all together, the squad is enough; it's complete, nice, top, and everybody is completely focussed and fit..."

"It is what it is, many clubs it happens, we're not the only club in the world in modern football to have injuries. We have a lot in certain departments and positions, but it is what it is.

"I'm pretty sure like I've said many times to the team, 'Guys try to not feel sorry for ourselves. It is what it is'. The challenge is that, and we're going to play with 11 players tomorrow..."

Now it's Pep Guardiola's turn to answer questions, and first up is their horrific injury record at the moment: "Tomorrow you will know it. You will see it, the list. I have many doubts, most of them, half-half... Tomorrow you will know it..."

The Chelsea boss also commented on Nicolas Jackson's brilliant start to the season: "Very happy. First of all, Nico is helping with us not only in terms of numbers but also in the way we want to play; the way he links with his teammates.

"The way he drops, he gives us an extra man. When he attacks in behind, he is quick and can score goals. We are trying to work with him in different areas."

Back to Enzo Maresca, who was asked about Enzo Fernandez's recent form: "I show frustration with Enzo? I show frustration will all of them. Don't only look at Enzo. I still trust Enzo. There is not any reason I can lose confidence in him. The reason he is not playing in the Premier League is because I take another decision but I have 100% confidence in him."

Some more from Postecoglou on Rúben Amorim's appointment by Manchester United ...

Cole Palmer sat out their defeat to Newcastle in midweek but Maresca has confirmed that the England international will return this weekend: "I hope so. He is going to play. Cole is doing very good all of the time. If we expect 20 goals and 20 assists again, it's probably wrong because we don't need to put the pressure on his shoulders."

Maresca is now speaking about his former team mate at Malaga, Ruud van Nistelrooy: "I didn't speak with Ruud. I will give him a big hug before the game. We expect a tough game.

Fantastic guy. Humble, very professional. Unfortunately I share with him a time where he was already finished but you could still see how good he was. We had a very good group of human beings with Malaga. It's nice to remember that kind of moment."

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is up now to preview their clash with Manchester United. First up, team news: "All are all available apart from Jadon. He has been ill in the last days

Tottenham face Aston Villa this weekend and Ange has been fulsome in his praise of Unai Emery: "When he was at Arsenal, people were quick to dismiss him.

"He was an outstanding manager before he went to Villa. They identified someone who could take their club to where they wanted to go and he's done that."

The Australian coach has gone all philosophical on us here: "If you want to grow a beautiful garden, you have to handle some fertilizer."

Some more on Van de Ven's injury: "He was really looking forward to the game, so he was emotional. At least it's not a bad one like last time that kept him out for quite a while."

First up from Ange is the team news, with Micky van de Ven out.

"Main one, is Micky, he has sort of strained his hamstring. It's not too serious, but probably after the international break for him

"Romero, Werner. At the moment, still a chance for the weekend. Sonny has trained today, so if he gets through training tomorrow he should be okay."
