Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo is looking for a potential exit route given his lack of playing time, and AC Milan are reportedly interested.

According to what is being reported by CaughtOffside, Endo ‘could be on his way out’ unless he starts playing more under Arne Slot. In fact, the midfielder is ‘seeking a new club’ due to insufficient playing time at Liverpool, and there is no shortage of admirers.

The 31-year-old joined from Stuttgart last summer and was expected to potentially play as the deeper-lying player in a midfield three, yet has found starts hard to come by. Milan are keen on him because of his ‘versatility and on-field performances’.

The Rossoneri management believe that he would be available for an affordable price, and indeed it seems the Reds would be willing to part with the Japan international for €15-18m. The likes of Celtic, Fulham, Wolverhampton, and Ipswich have also shown interest, as per the report.

Endo will look to move to ‘a competitive club, where he will be able to push for trophies’ and that is why the idea of a switch to Milan could be ‘quite attractive for him’. The Diavolo offer Champions League football, but the non-EU slot situation would have to be reviewed.

Milan continue to be linked with a move for a midfielder given Ismael Bennacer’s lengthy absence and the general lack of depth in the position.
