Diario Do Peixe reports that the CBF has released the VAR audio from the incident in which referee Ramon Abatti Abel awarded Athletico-PR a penalty after Santos defender Zé Ivaldo pulled an opponent.
The coming together occurred inside the opening two minutes of the first half. Santos managed to equalise, but Athletico-PR completed the comeback late in the second half.
In the audio, the video officials deem the shirt pull clear, noting that the contact begins outside the area and continues into the box. They recommend an on-field review, after which the referee awards the penalty.
The team discuss camera angles and the ball’s position, acknowledging it was not directly in the player’s context. They conclude the pull inside the area justifies a spot-kick. Abatti decides against a card, judging it was not a promising attack.
The match officials were led by Ramon Abatti Abel, with Alex dos Santos and Henrique Neu Ribeiro as assistants. Caio Max Augusto Vieira served as VAR, supported by Cleriston Clay Barreto Rios as AVAR and Adriano Barros Carneiro as AVAR2.
