CBF to increase Copa do Brasil prize money from 2027 with club spending conditions | OneFootball

The Brazilian Football Confederation will raise Copa do Brasil prize money from 2027, introducing a new fixed allocation for Série A and Série B clubs. The extra funds must be directed to reducing debts or improving infrastructure, not signings or player bonuses. Exact figures are yet to be set.

According to Coluna Do Fla, top two divisions teams will receive performance payments plus the additional fixed sum. Clubs from other divisions will continue to be paid solely by progression through rounds.

The uplift follows a new broadcast agreement for the 2027 to 2030 cycle involving Grupo Globo, Amazon and a third broadcaster still to be confirmed. The deal is worth more than R$ four billion, over 80% up on the previous contract. It also covers Supercopa Rei rights from 2028 to 2031.

Meanwhile, the 2026 edition is at the semi-final stage, with Vasco, Palmeiras, Grêmio and Atlético-MG still in contention. For the first time, the final will be a single match at Estádio Mané Garrincha in Brasília on six December 2026.

Flamengo exited in the fifth phase, their first round in the tournament, against Vitória. Leonardo Jardim’s side won 2-1 at the Maracanã, then lost 2-0 at Barradão.

For 2026, CBF will distribute around R$ 500 million to participating clubs. The winners of the final will receive R$ 78 million, and the champions could earn up to R$ 99.25 million overall.
