CD Castellón have doubled down on the Primera Federación market, a strategy built methodically over recent seasons. El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that the club target undervalued players ready to step up rather than relying solely on Segunda División experience.
Results are visible in the current squad. Diego Barri has become a key figure after arriving from Primera Federación, while Pablo Santiago and Lucas Alcázar have performed beyond initial expectations.
The club have also banked future upside. Tincho Conde and Marco Doué signed to develop within the project, and Álvaro García joined in the winter window.
These low-cost deals with room for appreciation reflect the sporting model driven by Bob Voulgaris and executed by the recruitment team. Castellón operate in a different lane to many Segunda rivals, avoiding bidding wars for established names.
Instead they try to move early, identifying potential before a full breakout. The approach lowers financial risk and could yield significant profits if on-pitch returns eventually translate into sales.
