CD Castellón set out second training base and SkyFi Castalia vision under Haralabos Voulgaris | OneFootball

CD Castellón, leaders of Liga Hypermotion, host CD Tenerife at 18:30 on Saturday at SkyFi Castalia. Their surge under Pablo Hernández runs alongside a broader project led by Haralabos Voulgaris.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the club are pushing medium and long-term plans, notably a second training hub for the academy on plots beside Chencho with the council.

It would host most academy sides, all eight-a-side and 11-a-side groups except principal youth teams. Castellón would build the complex and secure long-term use. Phase one includes two artificial pitches, offices and a small commercial area.

If permits move quickly, work could start within months and first pitches open next season. The move would cut daily trips to La Coma and free municipal pitches for other grassroots clubs.

La Coma is the first team’s base in Borriol. After opting to keep most of the academy in Castelló, a Voulgaris-backed 18 million euro redesign will turn it into a high performance centre used by the men, women, B team and Juvenil A.

A Mini Estadi, around 3,000 capacity, will stage leading youth matches and some first-team friendlies. The main building will include offices, medical areas, gyms and a press room.

With a 50-year deal to 2074, Castellón have continued upgrades at SkyFi Castalia. Voulgaris, invested around 35-40 million euros, plans future capital for the stadium. Details, including any probable capacity increase, remain undefined at the 1987-built ground.
