CD Castellón are working flat out to refine the squad in the final days of the window. Two arrivals are already in, Raúl Sánchez and striker Álvaro García, with scope for further movement before Monday.
The latest wide option linked is Bolivia international Fernando Nava. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the Oriente Petrolero winger is awaiting a response from Castellón while holding a firm offer from Always Ready, and a move to Europe would appeal. Any deal is not close at this stage.
After Mamah’s departure, another winger is off. Serpeta moves to Unionistas in Primera RFEF on loan until the end of the season to seek more minutes.
The 25-year-old signed last summer from Yeclano. His time has been hampered by misfortune, with early cameos under Johan Plat against Racing, Valladolid and Ceuta.
Adnane Ghailan Benktib could be the next through the door. The 25-year-old ambidextrous winger, a Morocco and Spain dual national, grew up in Rocafonda, a neighbourhood made famous by Lamine Yamal. Now shining for CE Europa in Barcelona’s Gràcia district, it is taken as a given locally that Castellón will pay his release clause, and he is nicknamed sastre for outwitting markers.
Elsewhere, an agreement has been reached for academy forward Hugo Goñi to end his contract, closing his spell at the club. He joined the set-up in 2023 and now heads to Real Zaragoza’s B team.
